Solution Overview
Covergence Trunk Manager (CTM) offers comprehensive application-layer security for VoIP and other real-time IP services, protecting against eavesdropping, intrusion, denial of service and other application-layer attacks. CTM can provide voice confidentiality, privacy and integrity by encrypting all SIP signaling and media traffic that crosses the SIP service demarcation point. CTM also prevents other security breaches by inspecting signaling and media streams, applying administratively-defined security policies, and ensuring media and signaling states are always synchronized.
CTM optimizes call quality and performance and helps providers deliver SLAs. Layer 2 and layer 3 QoS marking (802.1p, 802.1Q, TOS, DiffServ, MPLS, etc) allows voice traffic to be qualified and prioritized so providers can deliver end-to-end service quality. Call admission control allows providers to reject calls if sufficient bandwidth does not exist (static CAC) or if QoS parameters cannot be honored (dynamic CAC). In addition, CTM offers per-call QoS monitoring plus summary and detailed statistical information to assist providers with service level monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting.

The unique smart jack feature allows technicians to tap into the demarcation point to run tests and isolate faults.
